What it is
An endoscopic facelift uses a small camera and fine instruments through tiny incisions, usually hidden in the hairline, to lift and reposition the deeper tissues of the midface and upper face. It avoids the longer incisions of a traditional lift.
Because it works through very small openings, it suits younger patients with early midface or cheek descent and minimal loose skin, where the goal is repositioning tissue rather than removing skin.
It is not a substitute for a full facelift in patients with significant skin laxity, since little or no skin is removed. All surgery carries risks, and results vary.

It does not remove significant loose skin or correct jowls and neck laxity, which need a standard lift. It does not improve skin surface quality.
Before the procedure
You will receive instructions on medication, supplements, smoking, alcohol, and fasting. Your anatomy is assessed to confirm the endoscopic approach fits, since it suits early descent rather than loose skin.
During the procedure
Through small hidden incisions, a camera guides the release and repositioning of the deeper midface tissues, which are secured in a higher position. Little or no skin is removed.
After the procedure
Swelling and bruising are usually milder than a standard lift and ease over one to two weeks. The head is kept elevated. Most patients return to social activity within about two weeks.
Results: what it can and cannot achieve
A subtle lift of the midface and cheeks is achievable with minimal scarring. The technique cannot remove loose skin, cannot correct the jowls or neck, and cannot stop aging, so it suits earlier, milder change.
Possible risks and complications
An endoscopic facelift is generally safe, but all surgery carries risks. Possible risks include:
- Bleeding or hematoma
- Infection
- Temporary or, rarely, permanent facial nerve weakness
- Changes in sensation
- Asymmetry or under-correction
- Relapse of position over time
- Small scars within the hairline
Smoking raises healing risk after any facial surgery, so smoking cessation is advised.

An endoscopic facelift may suit younger patients with early descent. It is especially suitable for patients who:

- Have good skin quality with minimal loose skin
- Want minimal scarring and a shorter recovery
- Are in good general health with realistic expectations and do not smoke or can stop before and after surgery

NIM Vital™ is an advanced intraoperative facial nerve monitoring system.
During face and neck lift surgery, small electrodes monitor electrical activity in facial muscles controlled by branches of the facial nerve. The system provides the surgeon with real-time visual and audible feedback while working within delicate facial anatomy.
When needed, nerve stimulation can also provide additional information when the identity of a structure is uncertain.
NIM Vital™ does not replace surgical expertise. It adds another layer of real-time information, complementing what the surgeon can see and feel with functional information during surgery.

The science behind NIM Vital™
A 2026 prospective comparative study published in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery evaluated Nerve Integrity Monitoring during extended sub-SMAS facelift surgery in 200 patients.
The results are encouraging and support the potential role of intraoperative facial nerve monitoring as an additional tool during advanced facelift surgery. Study findings relate to the specific population and surgical protocol studied and do not guarantee an individual outcome.
